Daniel Kaluuya: Role Of Michael Fassbender executive produces
Daniel Kaluuya, who starred in “Judas and the Black Messiah,” had founder but will executive create “The House,” a future apocalyptic thriller for Amazon.
“The Restaurant,” co-written by Joe Murtagh (“Gangs of London”) and Kaluuya, Kibwe Tavares (“Noughts + Crosses”) and Daniel Emerson (“Calm with Horses”), is grounded in the notion by Kaluuya, Kibwe Tavares (“Noughts + Traverses”) In 2016, it was chosen for the Sundance Film Festival’s Screenwriting and Directors Lab.
The movie will be directed by Tavares, who received the Sundance Special Jury Award for his disney released “Robots of Brixton” and also was shortlisted for such Sxsw Animated Short Grand Jury Prize for his live-action short “Jonah.”

The logline states, “‘The Kitchen’ is set in London, 2044, in a future when the divide between wealthy and poor has been strained to breaking point.” “All forms of social housing have been eliminated, forcing London’s working classes to live in temporary accommodation on the outskirts of the city. The Kitchen is the first and largest of its kind, it’s London’s last village harbouring residents who refuse to move on and out of the place they call home.” It is here that we meet Izi, a kitchen inhabitant who is frantically trying to find a way out, and Benji, a 12-year-old who has lost his mother and is looking for a home. We follow our unusual duo as they fight for survival in a system that is rigged against them.”

“I was in my barbershop in 2011 and there was a man bragging about smash and grabs — youngsters conducting million-pound heists in a minute for £200 [$260],” Kaluuya said. “I saw the possibility of unlocking a one-of-a-kind tale door into London’s inequality, parenthood, class, joy, resilience, bravery, defiance, and caring.”
“Now, over a decade later, Kibwe Tavares, Daniel Emmerson, and I are set to begin production on a dystopian London that interrogates what ‘care’ means at home and as a society, and the hazards in our future if we remain oblivious to everything around us,” he said. “I consider myself fortunate and delighted to be sharing my first co-writing film credit with such a talented bunch of people, as well as Film 4 and Netflix’s backing.” We’re all looking forward to seeing Kibwe’s magnificent, cinematic, electrifying vision come to life and creating a moment that people will remember.”
