6 Things to Do to Disinfect Your Home Against Diseases

Every year with the onset of the season, winter or summer, a growing complaint of flu and cough is common in almost every household. Our home is a comfortable fortress that should offer asylum against diseases and viruses. But what if your home is the root of it?

You must be thinking this is insane, we clean our homes and do our laundry right on time. But guess what? Seasonal changes trigger the dirt, and germs resulting in a cold and wet nose too! If your kid is sneezing or coughing with the onset of the spring, it might be your home is too old or intense cleaning is not helpful. You might as well as buy a new home in the royal orchard in Multan to avoid this.

But even then you need to disinfect your home against diseases to avoid any serious medical emergency. So here’s what you need to do for infecting your home.

1- Find the HotSpots Around Home

First, begin by tackling the surfaces, the obvious ones like your furniture, doors, and windows. You need to also clean the secondary, small surfaces that can be easily ignored like light switches, doorknobs, and so on.

It is recommended to use sanitizer wipes to clean smaller hard surfaces like doorknobs and switches. It kills common bacteria. Or you can use a sanitizer spray to clean with a microfiber cloth for best results. People can also use sanitizer wipes because they are cheaper, and safer to use on regular basis.

For kitchen faucets, stoves and fridges, wipes are also pretty handy to avoid letting the bacteria build-up.

2- Deep Clean Hard Surfaces

Once the high usage areas are cleaned, it’s time to enter the most used room – the kitchen, dining area, and your bedroom.

All horizontal surfaces in the home are worth deep cleaning. Especially if it’s the hard surface like your bed, dining table, countertops in the kitchen and bathroom, and sinks everything needs to be deep cleaned.  Otherwise, these surfaces are the home for dirt to settle. It’s easy to ignore thinking a daily dose of dusting these surfaces is enough.

But it’s not.

Instead, using high concentrated cleaning supplies can be useful. Just remember to not use the cleaned surface instantly. Wait for at least a few seconds, until it’s completely dry.

3- Appliances Cleansing

Our home is filled with multiple functional appliances. The kitchen is one common example, filled with tons of appliances like fridges, microwaves, cooking ranges, dishwashers, and whatnot. Besides, there are other appliances too like air conditioners, cellphones, laptops, tablets, LEDs, etc that need regular cleaning.

For smaller tech devices, you need to remove the cases and be able to clean in between the keyboard keys and disinfect the areas. A fantastic way to clean all appliances is to use a dampened microfiber cloth with one-part isopropyl alcohol and one-part water in a misting spray bottle.

4- Steam Cleaning Floors and Cabinets

Flooring and cabinets are the popular hideaways for dirt to settle and for bacteria to grow. A carpeted floor is hard to clean but even a tiled floor needs proper cleaning. The best way to take care of floors and cabinets is to steam clean them. It effectively kills the bacteria and removes the grout on the floor.

For the rugs, you can use a vacuum and remove the excess water from the flooring to prevent mold. If a room is carpeted, it is recommended to install moisture-proof padding to protect the floor.

5- Don’t Forget The Toys

Living with the family is more crucial than ever due to pandemics. People should be more concerned about the fact that they have kids running around. It means you also need to clean the toys and whatever play item they have. For instance, plush toys are harder to clean, so submerge them in hot water and spin it to dry them.
